The Liebster Award

Holy smokes, y'all! I was just nominated by the sweetest, Erin, over at The Elementary Darling. Talk about the cutest blog name AND blog. I feel like such a slacker when it comes to my blog and how much I want to be more like some other bloggers, but someone noticed me and I feel so thankful! :)
Here are the rules-
1. Link back to the blog that nominated me
2. Nominate 5-11 blogs with fewer than 200 followers
3. Answer the questions posted for me by my nominator
4. Share 11 random facts about myself
5. Contact my nominees and let them know that I nominated them

Here are the questions from Erin. :)

1. What is your favorite thing about your job?
My absolute favorite: The relationships I have with these kids. They seriously turn my life around. They've TAUGHT me so much, and I'm their teacher. It's just amazing. Hearing I love you at the end of the day as they go home and seeing their faces light up when the light bulb finally turns on for them makes my heart melt. I've never experienced another feeling like this.
2. Which do you like better, instagram or facebook?
Oh gosh, this is such a hard question. My instagram is my teacher and personal instagram (mrs_cmt1489).. So it kind of gives you an insight to who I am, and my classroom. My teacher facebook is all about what I am doing for my classroom and quotes that resemble my beliefs as a teacher.
3. Do you have a theme for your classroom decor? If so, what is it?
Our campus wide theme was Dr. Seuss, so I have Dr. Seuss, chevron, and primary colors. I love it! :)
4. How many siblings do you have?
I have a half brother. We have the same mom :) He lives in Norman, OK.
5. Who is your favorite clip art designer?
Krista Wallden or Ashley Hughes! They're such different styles and I love them so much!!!

9. What is your favorite children's author?

I am HOOKED on Dexter on Netflix right now. I have a bunch of shows I record. I love CSI and Criminal Minds. I must have been a crime scene investigator in my past life ;)
11. Do you have any pets?
Yes, my sweet baby, Lyla.
She's rotten!

Last but not least: 11 random facts about myself.
1. I am from NE Oklahoma. Small town, graduated with 37 in my highschool class.

SECRET ADMIRER REVEAL!!!

I am so happy you are here! I am finally able to reveal my secret admirer!!!

The beautiful Mrs. Lauren over at A Teachable Teacher! Holy cow, is she amazing! I admire her work that she does and semi-envy her for being bilingual AND getting married at The Magical Kingdom! :)

The product I got the opportunity to test out with my kiddos was her Writing Super Sentences pack!

It has helped with my kiddos to recognize how sentences should look so much!! The first day I introduced it to my students I told them how they were going to get to be superheroes now!!! I read them the signs and we hung them up together.  Then we worked on one sheet a day starting with the importance of capital letter, then spaces, then end marks. Now my kids are constantly pointing out the super hero rules in their sentences ( THANK GOODNESS ) I was starting to semi-panic!

Here are some pictures of my kiddos working on the sheets:

ANDD
Here was the final sheet we did, and then even used her techniques to make sure their sentences were correct :)

I seriously am so thankful this is what I asked for when I signed up for this hop. It has helped my kiddos so much with some quick remembering ideas for they developing of sentences! Thank goodness, because as the year is closing in I was really concerned with some of their sentence structure! Now they're constantly correcting themselves (and each other) and making sure they meet all the super sentence rules!

So, Lauren has been so kind and allowed me to give away this pack to one amazing follower!!!! You can find it in her store here also.

Five for Friday {April 11}

Good Evening Friends!!! I am linking up again this Friday with Doodle Bugs Teaching for my five for Friday random pictures/posts!

1.

Okay so, on Tuesday we did this. :) Shaving cream words ARE A HIT. I think I did maybe 5 worksheets this whole week. IF that.

2.

Then I had some kiddos get SUPER creative on how to make sight words in play dough for fun. :) They came up with some neat ways, some were writing with their scissors? It worked, so I didn't ask questions ;)

3.
Here are my new "sight word stations." I created these documents and they go from table to table to complete. One table has colored pencils so they do rainbow write the word. Then they go to the stamp table. Then they go to the crayon table, then they finish the paper or start with the pencil table to write a sentence. They had SO much fun. Who knew learning could be so exciting ;) I am hoping to finish this sight word bundle and get it out there in the TPT world some time. If you're interested, let me know

4.
ANNNND with it being Friday we have FUN FRIDAY. :)

Subtraction Bowling

Rhyming puzzles :)

CVC/CVCC/CCVC word making

Reading Station

My sight word roll read and color... -- They're here in my store

Then finally, their FAVORITE. Our community in the back. They make a town, and add cars and people. They LOVE this center.

Another shot of subtraction instead of making words. Sometimes they take their own control, and that's fine :)

5.
Then my friend April at The Primary Gal uploaded this early. SO amazing. :)

Yes, it's all educational, because well, my life is my job.
Except right now, I'm going on a date with the husband!!!!

Thanks for visiting!!!!
